First meeting of the Working Group dedicated to the Good Practices document relevant to the 1965 Service, 1970 Evidence, and 1980 Access to Justice Conventions

In March 2025, the Council on General Affairs and Policy (CGAP) approved the establishment of a Working Group (WG) consisting of delegates from a variety of geographical regions to finalise the Good Practices document relevant to the 1965 Service, 1970 Evidence, and 1980 Access to Justice Conventions (see Conclusion and Decision No 47 of CGAP 2025).
The first meeting of the WG was held online on 5 June 2025, hosted by the Permanent Bureau (PB). The meeting was attended by 46 delegates representing 22 HCCH Members, as well as by members of the PB.
During the meeting, participants progressed work on a document aimed at enhancing the practical operation of the Conventions. The document will include measures to encourage efficient communication between the parties involved and promote the use of information technology. The WG agreed that the Good Practices document will be developed for those engaged in preparing, transmitting, receiving and completing requests for cooperation.
The WG will continue to work to finalise the Good Practices document and will report to CGAP in March 2026.
