1993 Intercountry Adoption Convention enters into force for Honduras

On 1 July 2019, the HCCH Convention of 29 May 1993 on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption (hereinafter the “Adoption Convention”) entered into force for Honduras, following the signature and deposit of its instrument of ratification on 6 March 2019. The Adoption Convention currently has 101 Contracting Parties.

In addition to the Adoption Convention, Honduras is a Contracting Party to 4 other HCCH Conventions (Apostille, Child Abduction, Child Protection and Child Support). On 6 March 2019, Honduras also applied to become a Member of the HCCH.
