Update Coronavirus (COVID-19):
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the HCCH Permanent Bureau has released a video message from the Secretary General and also published both a general COVID-19 Toolkit and a specific Toolkit for the HCCH 1980 Child Abduction Convention in Times of COVID-19.
The premises of the Permanent Bureau are open, however visitors are requested to make an appointment in advance. Pursuant to the guidance of the Dutch Government, the Permanent Bureau asks that all staff and visitors respect the 1.5m distance requirement at all times.

Please note that the only official languages of the Hague Conference on Private International Law are English and French.
The Permanent Bureau is not in a position to respond to queries from private persons or legal practitioners concerning the operation of the various Hague Conventions, including cases concerning the use of Apostilles, child abduction, child protection, intercountry adoption, the service of documents abroad, or the taking of evidence abroad. WHERE WE ARE
The Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) is located in the International Zone of The Hague, at Churchillplein 6b, next to the World Forum and between the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals and Europol. HOW TO REACH THE PERMANENT BUREAU
- By public transport:
From The Hague Central Station (CS)
Take tram 16 (direction Statenkwartier) until the Statenplein stop then follow the Eisenhowerlaan. The offices of the HCCH are located on the right-hand side, next to Europol, approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the tram stop.
Alternatively, take tram 16 to the centre of The Hague (2 stops) and change at tram stop "Spui" to tram 1 (direction Scheveningen Noord). Get off at the World Forum stop and then follow the Eisenhowerlaan. The offices of the HCCH are located on the left-hand side after passing the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the tram stop.
From The Hague Hollands Spoor Station (HS)
Take tram 1 to the World Forum stop and then follow Eisenhowerlaan. The offices of the HCCH are located on the left-hand side after passing the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals, approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the tram stop.

Once you have reached our offices, limited parking is available in the parking garage which is accessible at Eisenhowerlaan 77. Upon entering the parking garage go to parking level -1 and park in one of the designated HCCH parking spots. The HCCH offices are to be found on the second floor and can be reached via the lift at Entrance D.
