The Leonard J. Theberge Award for Private International Law awarded to Professor Louise Ellen Teitz

Professor Louise Ellen Teitz was presented with the Leonard J. Theberge Award for Private International Law by the American Bar Association Section of International Law on 19 October 2012 during the Section's Fall Meeting in Miami. The award, given annually, honours Ms Teitz's distinguished, long-standing contributions to the development of private international law. Previous distinguished recipients of the prize, associated with the Hague Conference or its work, include: Peter D. Trooboff, Mary Helen Carlson, David Stewart, Harold S. Burman, Adair Dyer, Professor Arthur von Mehren, Peter H. Pfund, Professor Willis L.M. Reese, and Philip W. Amram.

Ms Teitz currently carries out the functions of First Secretary at the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law. Prior to joining the Permanent Bureau, Ms Teitz was a Professor of Law at Roger Williams University School of Law in Rhode Island.
