Office: Churchillplein 6b, 2517 JW The Hague, Netherlands
Contact: [email protected]
2. Products Covered
These Terms apply to digital HCCH publications in eBook format, distributed as files protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM). Access to these files requires the use of Adobe Digital Editions, a free software available for Windows and macOS.
3. Purchase Procedure
Purchases are made online, either via the HCCH’s own platform or a designated service provider. Upon confirmation of payment, the purchaser will receive a link to download an .acsm file, which must be opened using Adobe Digital Editions.
Purchasers are responsible for checking device and software compatibility prior to purchase. No refunds will be provided for incompatibility issues.
4. Licence of Use
Purchase of an eBook grants the user a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content. The eBook may be accessed on up to six (6) devices linked to the same Adobe ID. Any reproduction, distribution, sharing or resale is strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of the HCCH.
5. Withdrawal and Refund Policy
Due to their nature, the HCCH cannot accept returns for digital HCCH publications which have been downloaded either via the HCCH’s own platform or a designated service provider. Sales of digital HCCH publications are considered final. The initiation of a download or the usage of the relevant access link indicates agreement on the part of the purchaser to waive any rights of withdrawal or return of the relevant digital HCCH publication.
No refunds will be provided once the download has been initiated or the access link has been used.
6. Personal Data
Personal data collected during the purchase process is processed in accordance with the HCCH Privacy Policy.
7. Limitation of Liability
All HCCH publications, along with any accompanying materials, are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The HCCH does not warrant, guarantee or make any representations (implied or expressed) regarding the use, or the results of use, of HCCH publications, in terms of completeness, correctness, accuracy, adequacy, reliability, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The HCCH expressly disclaims any liability for errors or omissions in the content of HCCH publications, and shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damages arising out of the use of or inability to use a purchased HCCH publication.
The HCCH shall not be liable for:
- incompatibility between the product and the user’s devices or software,
- technical difficulties arising from third-party software,
- file loss after successful download.
8. Preservation of Immunities
The HCCH is an intergovernmental entity. Transactions relating to HCCH publications do not form a part of any commercial activity. Nothing herein shall constitute or be considered to be a limitation upon or a waiver of the privileges and immunities of the HCCH, which are specifically reserved.
9. Changes to the Terms
The HCCH reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. The version applicable to the sale is the one in force at the time of the order.
