Denmark declares that the 2005 Convention on Choice of Court Agreements shall not apply to the Faroe Islands and Greenland

On 19 October 2018, the Permanent Bureau was informed by the Depositary of an additional declaration made by Denmark further to it having deposited its instrument of accession to the Convention of 30 June 2005 on Choice of Court Agreements (hereinafter the “Choice of Court Convention”) on 30 May 2018. In this additional declaration, Denmark pronounces that the application of the Choice of Court Convention shall not apply to the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The declaration became effective on 1 September 2018, the date of entry into force of the Choice of Court Convention for Denmark. The full text of the declarations may be accessed on the status table of the Convention. The Choice of Court Convention currently has 32 Contracting Parties, including one REIO.

Denmark has been a Member of the HCCH since 1955. It is a Contracting Party to 13 Hague Conventions.
