Indonesia becomes 94th Member of the HCCH

Today, 11 August 2026, the Republic of Indonesia deposited its instrument of acceptance of the Statute of the HCCH, thus becoming its 94th Member.

At the ceremony, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, depositary of the HCCH Conventions, Indonesia was represented by:

The depositary was represented by Mr Jules Van Eijndhoven, Head of the Treaties Division, and Mr Rieks Boekholt, Senior Legal Officer at the Treaties Division. The Permanent Bureau of the HCCH was represented by Dr Christophe Bernasconi, Secretary General of the HCCH, and his Legal Attaché, Dr Louwrens Kiestra.

Tomorrow, 12 August 2026, the Secretary General of the HCCH will welcome the representatives of Indonesia to the premises of the HCCH for further discussions.

Indonesia has been connected to the work of the HCCH since 2021 and is currently a Contracting Party to the 1961 Apostille Convention.

The Permanent Bureau is pleased to welcome Indonesia as a new HCCH Member and looks forward to supporting its authorities in ensuring Indonesia’s active and meaningful participation in the work of the Organisation.
