The Republic of Botswana deposited, in accordance with Article 58, third paragraph, of the abovementioned Convention, its instrument of accession to the Convention with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands on 14 November 2022. The Contracting States were informed of the accession by depositary notification International recovery of child support No. 06/2022 on 15 November 2022.
One Contracting State raised an objection to the accession of the Republic of Botswana before 16 November 2023, namely the United States of America, whose declaration is given below. Therefore, the Convention will not enter into force between the Republic of Botswana and the above-mentioned Contracting State.
In accordance with Article 60, second paragraph, sub-paragraph b, the Convention entered into force between the Republic of Botswana and the other Contracting States which have not raised an objection to the accession of the Republic of Botswana, on 16 November 2023.
