Second meeting of the WG on Article 33 of the 1996 Child Protection Convention
On 22 April 2026, the second meeting of the Working Group (WG) on the operation of Article 33 of the 1996 Child Protection Convention was held online, hosted by the Permanent Bureau (PB). The meeting had close to 65 registered delegates and other experts, representing 31 HCCH Members, two non-Member Contracting Parties and one Observer, in addition to members of the PB.
Pursuant to its mandate (C&D No 26 of CGAP 2024), the WG continued its work on the development of a Model Form for requests under Article 33. Participants discussed the possible content and structure of the form, as well as the means by which requested States may communicate their consent to requests for cross-border placement.
