Angola accedes to the 1993 Adoption Convention

The Permanent Bureau has been informed that on 14 March 2024, the Republic of Angola deposited its instrument of accession to the Convention of 29 May 1993 on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption (1993 Adoption Convention).
With the accession of Angola, the 1993 Adoption Convention now has 106 Contracting Parties. It will enter into force for Angola on 1 July 2024. More information on this Convention is available on the Adoption Section of the HCCH website.
Angola is not yet a Member of the HCCH and the 1993 Adoption Convention is the first HCCH Convention or instrument that it has joined, making it the 157th Party connected to the work of the HCCH.
