2019 Judgments Convention enters into force for Albania

On 1 March 2026, the Convention of 2 July 2019 on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters (2019 Judgments Convention) entered into force for the Republic of Albania following the deposit of its instrument of ratification on 13 February 2025.
At present, 33 HCCH Members are either bound by the 2019 Judgments Convention or a Contracting Party for which the Convention has not entered into force yet (Andorra). More information on this Convention is available on the Judgments Section of the HCCH website.
Albania has been a Member of the HCCH since 2002 and is a Contracting Party to 17 HCCH Conventions and instruments.
