By a Note dated 28 June 1971 and received on 19 July 1971, the Government of Fiji informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, that it considers itself bound by the Convention, which had been extended to its territory by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland before the accession of Fiji to independence, as from 10 October 1970, the date on which Fiji acceded to independence, maintaining the reservation made at the time of the extension.
