The participation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents, shall in no way imply recognition of entities which it does not recognize outside the scope of the present Convention and shall not lead to entry into dealings with such entities under this Convention. Furthermore, the Convention shall not apply to India, and/or entities not recognized by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in The Hague presents its compliments to the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH), The Hague, and has the honour to inform that Pakistan is still in the process of completing the formalities for issuance of the Apostille Certificates in connection with the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents (Apostille Convention). It may be some months before the process in completed.
The Embassy has further the honour to inform that in line with the obligations as contracting state of the convention, concerned authorities of Pakistan would, however, start honouring Apostille Certificates issued by the member/contracting states of the convention from the date of entry into force i.e. 9 March 2023.
