Colombia joins the Hague Evidence Convention

On Friday, 13 January 2012, Colombia deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Convention of 18 March 1970 on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters and thus became the 55th Contracting State. The Convention will enter into force for Colombia on 13 March 2012.

At the ceremony, which took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague, the Embassy of Colombia was represented by H.E. Ambassador Eduardo Pizarro Leongómez and Counsellor Solangel Ortiz Mejía. Deputy Secretary General Christophe Bernasconi, and Senior Legal Officer Mayela Celis, represented the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference.
