<title>2005 Choice of Court Convention enters into force for Bahrain</title>
<description>On 1 July 2025, the Convention of 30 June 2005 on Choice of Court Agreements (2005 Choice of Court Convention) entered into force for the Kingdom of Bahrain following the deposit of its instrument of accession on 13 March 2025.
At present, 37 States and the European Union are bound by the 2005 Choice of Court Convention.&amp;nbsp;More information on this Convention is available on the Choice of Court Section of the HCCH website.
Although not yet a Member of the HCCH, Bahrain is a Contracting Party to three HCCH Conventions...</description>

<title>Bahrain accedes to the 1970 Evidence and 2005 Choice of Court Conventions</title>
<description>The Permanent Bureau has been notified that, on 13 March 2025, the Kingdom of Bahrain deposited its instruments of accession to the Convention of 18 March 1970 on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters (1970 Evidence Convention) and to the Convention of 30 June 2005 on Choice of Court Agreements (2005 Choice of Court Convention).
With the accession of Bahrain, the 1970 Evidence Convention now has 67 Contracting Parties, It will enter into force for Bahrain on 12 May 2025. More information on this Convention is available on the Evidence Section of the HCCH website.

<title>Bahrain issues its first e-Apostille</title>
<description>
On 3 December 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain issued its first e-Apostille as part of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) under the&amp;nbsp;Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents&amp;nbsp;(Apostille Convention).&amp;nbsp;Bahrain had already put in place a Category 2 e-Register in 2014.
The Permanent Bureau would like to congratulate the Government of Bahrain on these excellent initiatives. To date, there are over 200 Competent Authorities in 25 States operating one or both of components of the e-APP,..</description>
