<description>On 1 January 2025, the Convention of 30 June 2005 on Choice of Court Agreements (2005 Choice of Court Convention) entered into force for the Swiss Confederation following the deposit of its instrument of accession on 18 September 2024.

<description>On 18 September 2024 the Swiss Confederation deposited its instrument of accession to the Convention of 30 June 2005 on Choice of Court Agreements (2005 Choice of Court Convention).

<title>Switzerland first State to ratify Hague Securities Convention</title>
<description>On Monday 14 September 2009, the Hague Convention of 5 July 2006 on the Law Applicable to Certain Rights in Respect of Securities held with an Intermediary was ratified by Switzerland.
Two more ratifications or accessions are needed in order for the Convention, which is open for signature by all States,&amp;nbsp;to enter into force.

<title>Switzerland ratifies 1996 and 2000 Hague Conventions</title>

On Friday, 27 March 2009, Switzerland deposited the instruments of ratification of the Hague Convention of 19 October 1996 on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Co-operation in Respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children and the Hague Convention of 13 January 2000 on the International Protection of Adults. Both Conventions will enter into force for Switzerland on 1 July 2009.
