<title>Romania signs the 2000 Protection of Adults Convention</title>
<description>Today, 29 August 2024, H.E. Mr Lucian Fătu, Ambassador of Romania to the Netherlands, signed, on behalf of Romania, the Convention of 13 January 2000 on the International Protection of Adults (2000 Protection of Adults Convention).
The 2000 Protection of Adults Convention, which currently has 16 Contracting Parties, will enter into force for Romania only after it deposits an instrument of ratification pursuant to Art. 53(2) of the Convention. <title>The Evidence Convention enters into force for Andorra</title>
<description>On 26 June 2017, the&amp;nbsp;Hague Convention of 18 March 1970 on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters&amp;nbsp;(Evidence Convention) entered into force for the Principality of Andorra. Having acceded to the Evidence Convention on 26 April 2017, Andorra became the 61st Contracting State to the Convention.
Andorra has been a Member of the Hague Conference since 11 June 2015 and is already party to five other Hague Conventions. The Evidence Convention is thus the sixth instrument of the Hague Conference to which Andorra is party.

<description>The Hague Convention of 19 October 1996 on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Co-operation in Respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children&amp;nbsp;was recently ratified by&amp;nbsp;various EU Member States, namely: Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, Romania and&amp;nbsp;Spain.
The Hague Convention of 13 January 2000 on the International Protection of Adults was accepted by Finland on 19 November 2010, whereas Estonia acceded to this Convention on 13 December 2010.
