VACANCY: FINANCIAL / PROJECT ASSISTANT (FULL TIME – MATERNITY LEAVE REPLACEMENT)

The Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) seeks a:

FINANCIAL / PROJECT ASSISTANT (FULL TIME – MATERNITY LEAVE REPLACEMENT)

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • At least two years of relevant experience, preferably within an international working environment;
  • Fluency in English or French, with a working knowledge of the other; knowledge of Dutch is an asset;
  • Sensitivity to different cultures;
  • Experience with financial administration;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to work under pressure.

The successful applicant will perform various project administration tasks, including help organising promotional and capacity building events, identifying and contacting possible donors, as well as preparing reports. The Project Assistant will also administer voluntary contributions. He or she will prepare publications and training materials, draft public relations materials, maintain the HCCH’s social media accounts, as well as assist with the preparation for annual governance meetings, working group meetings and conferences.

The Project Assistant will be part of the Administrative Team and will be expected to provide administrative support in English and French, including drafting, formatting, and correcting day-to-day correspondence and various other documents, updating the HCCH’s databases, answering the telephone and door, and providing general assistance during the international meetings held by the HCCH, and other related tasks as needed. He or she will report to the Head of Administration and the Attaché to the Secretary General.

Type of appointment and duration: temporary contract for five months

Grade (Co-ordinated Organisations scale for the Netherlands): +/- B2 subject to relevant experience
