<title>2007 Child Support Convention enters into force for Nicaragua</title>
<description>On 18 April 2020, the Convention of 23 November 2007 on the International Recovery of Child Support and other Forms of Family Maintenance (&amp;ldquo;Child Support Convention&amp;rdquo;) enters into force for Nicaragua, following the deposit of its instrument of accession on 8 March 2019.
The 2007 Child Support Convention currently has 41 Contracting Parties (incl. REIOs and States bound as a result of approval by an REIO). The entry into force for Nicaragua, following those for Brazil (2017), Honduras (2018) and Guyana earlier this year marks the continued extension of the Convention&amp;rsquo;s reach..</description>

<title>The Service Convention enters into force for Nicaragua</title>
<description>On 1 February 2020, the HCCH Convention of 15 November 1965 on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters (&amp;ldquo;Service Convention&amp;rdquo;) entered into force for Nicaragua, following the deposit of its instrument of accession on 24 July 2019.
Although not yet a Member State of the HCCH, Nicaragua is currently party to five other HCCH Conventions (Apostille, Evidence, Child Abduction, Child Protection and Child Support).
The Service Convention currently has 75 Contracting Parties.

<title>Nicaragua accedes to the 1965 Service Convention </title>
<description>On 24&amp;nbsp;July&amp;nbsp;2019, Nicaragua deposited its instrument of accession to the&amp;nbsp;HCCH&amp;nbsp;Convention of 15 November 1965 on the Service Abroad of Judicial and Extrajudicial Documents in Civil or Commercial Matters&amp;nbsp;(&amp;ldquo;Service Convention&amp;rdquo;).
The&amp;nbsp;Service&amp;nbsp;Convention, which now has&amp;nbsp;75&amp;nbsp;Contracting Parties, will enter into force for Nicaragua on&amp;nbsp;1 February&amp;nbsp;2020,&amp;nbsp;in the absence of an objection from a Contracting Party having already ratified the Convention&amp;nbsp;(pursuant to Art. 28).&amp;nbsp;

<title>Nicaragua accedes to the 2007 Child Support Convention</title>
<description>Today, the Permanent Bureau (PB) was informed that on 8 March 2019 Nicaragua had deposited its instrument of accession to the HCCH Convention of 23 November 2007 on the International Recovery of Child Support and Other Forms of Family Maintenance (&amp;ldquo;Child Support Convention&amp;rdquo;). This brings the number of Contracting Parties to 41 (incl. REIOs and States bound as a result of approval by an REIO). Nicaragua joins Brazil, Guyana and Honduras as Contracting Parties from Latin America. The Child Support Convention will enter into force for Nicaragua on 18 April 2020.

<description>On 27 February 2019, Nicaragua deposited its instrument of accession to the HCCH Convention of 18 March 1970 on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters (&amp;ldquo;Evidence Convention&amp;rdquo;). The Evidence Convention, which now has 62 Contracting Parties, will enter into force for Nicaragua on 28 April 2019.
