<title>Latvia launches a Category 2 e-Register</title>
<description>On 26 March 2018, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia launched a Category 2 e-Register as part of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) under the&amp;nbsp;Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents&amp;nbsp;(Apostille Convention).&amp;nbsp;The e-Register is available at http://www.mfa.gov.lv/en/consular-information/apostille-checking.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;

<title>Adults Convention enters into force for Latvia</title>
<description>On 1 March 2018 the Convention of 13 January 2000 on the International Protection of Adults entered into force for Latvia following the deposit of its instrument of ratification&amp;nbsp;to the Convention on 6 December 2017. The Adults Convention currently has 10 Contracting Parties.
Latvia has been a member of the Hague Conference since 1992 and is already a Contracting Party to 13 other Hague Conventions.

<title>Latvia ratifies the 2000 Hague Protection of Adults Convention, which now has 10 Contracting Parties</title>
<description>On 6 December 2017, the Permanent Bureau was informed that Latvia deposited its instrument of ratification of the Convention of 13 January 2000 on the International Protection of Adults on 24 November 2017, thus bringing the total number of Contracting Parties to the Convention to 10. This is an important milestone for the instrument.
The Convention will enter into force in Latvia on 1 March 2018. Latvia has been a Member of the HCCH since 1992, and is already a Contracting Party to 12 other Hague Conventions and one Hague Protocol (for more details, see here)...</description>

<description>On Thursday 15 December 2016, Latvia signed the&amp;nbsp;Hague Convention of 13 January 2000 on International Protection of Adults. The Convention is anticipated to be ratified by Latvia in 2017. Latvia is currently a Contracting State to 12 Conventions and one Protocol of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
