Switzerland ratifies 1996 and 2000 Hague Conventions

On Friday, 27 March 2009, Switzerland deposited the instruments of ratification of the Hague Convention of 19 October 1996 on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement and Co-operation in Respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children and the Hague Convention of 13 January 2000 on the International Protection of Adults. Both Conventions will enter into force for Switzerland on 1 July 2009.
On behalf of the Permanent Bureau, Mr Christophe Bernasconi (First Secretary) and Ms Chloé Grenadou (intern at the Permanent Bureau) attended the short ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at The Hague.
